A Letter From Rachel Greer
Dear Business Owners & Rising Entrepreneurs,
I'm the local realtor with a real heart and I'm very passionate. I feud with my peers sometimes because I believe we can do what's best and what works for everyone without putting one party in an unfavorable scenario in the long term. I fight everyday to make sure every deal I close, every contract I write there's complete transparency to ensure all parties can leave the table feeling optimistic and confident about the future. It's impossible to view business owners and rising entrepreneurs as dollar signs. I know everything it takes, everything it took and what's required to stay open for business while maintaining the financials of operations. Most of us business owners are dreamers that refuse to give up. Most of us are creating a vehicle to provide for our families, our children while allowing some time freedom and flexibility. It saddens me when I hear the news of any business closing. Sadly I think to some degree us realtors are to blame. We can share demographics and average income of an area, that doesn't always factor in what will work for specific businesses or endeavors. Each business owner or rising entrepreneur I work with, my goal is always to do the best that I can to ensure longevity. I won't single out a realtor, I'll call all of us out. Yes we are sales people but to what degree? I could never sleep at night knowing I'm just closing a deal and I'm not thinking about the person behind the business. More than ever, I've saw so much saturation in certain areas. My most recent frustration is seeing 4 of the same exact businesses on the same street within a few feet of each other on the same half of a block. That means someone is going to go out of business. The small area doesn't require all 4, maybe 2 as it have been for the longest. I empathize with business owners who simply cannot financially afford to take a hit or the ones who will go through a lot of their retirement fund or seek SBA lending with hopes to survive before going bankrupt. My goal is to ensure REALISTIC COMMERCIAL LEASE TERMS OR PURCHASES. If I take a pay cut in the process, fine. I rather see more businesses STAYING OPEN. I see beyond the business. Business owners, rising entrepreneurs are parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, family, and friends that had courage to operate a business so that us locals can truly have our favorite places nearby. Thank you to every business owner and rising entrepreneur who has entered the business sector in Wisconsin. We are so thankful.
