Greer Innovation, A Scholarship For Creatives
Dear Brown Deer,
I apologize it took so long. This scholarship is 6 years late. I should've reached back for the high school and community that raised me 7 years ago. I hope I'm forgiven. I have such amazing memories. I still remember in middle school I would tell joke of the week on the P.A. I think I was the only one that thought the jokes were funny. Mr. Jenkins in 7th grade told me my jokes weren't very funny, especially the one about, "What's a teacher's favorite holiday?" [Parent Teacher's Conference]

I enjoyed weekends at Forensic and Debate meets. I even wrestled with the boys and well I wasn't very good. I lasted about 2 years in it, that's about it. My friends and the community always embraced my wiling to try new things. I made some amazing friends. I remember all the good times we had. I have some amazing stories to share. Thank you class of 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012. I did end up graduating a year early and became class of 2010. I do feel class of 2011, the original class I was supposed to graduate with has given me some of the best lifetime memories.

Class of 2008 made me fall in love with sports even more. They were so competitive. Class of 2009 stuck together like siblings, always admired their class. I speak on it often (2008), our varsity basketball team blew out New Berlin Eisenhower near the end of the regular season. Then we lost in the finals before state at the Al McGuire Center via Marquette University. I cried because I just knew we were punching a ticket to state. I couldn't believe how it all happened so fast in the 4th quarter. I was super sad.

Brown Deer, you have my commitment to continue to do my part in the schools. I'm forever thankful for every teacher, every parent, every classmate & every friend that contributed to my experiences. I'll never forget my roots, Brown Deer raised me.
